I’m thrilled and incredibly proud to share that I have been named “Honorary Skaraborgian” of the year 2026" (Årets hederskaraborgare) by Skaraborgs Akademi!
Receiving this recognition means a lot to me. Even though I am based in Prague, the unique landscapes, the distinctive nature around Kinnekulle, and my deep roots in Skaraborg remain a massive source of inspiration for my surreal art. Knowing that my work helps put Skaraborg on the international map is an immense honor.
What is Skaraborgs Akademi?
For those curious about the organization behind the award, Skaraborgs Akademi is a prestigious cultural institution comprising 18 prominent members who originally hail from the Skaraborg region but currently live elsewhere (known as "Skaraborgare in the diaspora"). With its fitting motto "Snille och blixt" (Genius and Lightning), the Academy plays an important cultural role by promoting regional identity and celebrating individuals who carry the spirit and light of Skaraborg out into the wider world.
